Skylight Tinting

A skylight is a heat lamp pointed straight down at your floor for six hours a day. In a valley that hits a hundred and four, that's not a small detail.

A barrel-vaulted skylight glazed overhead, filmed to cut the heat coming straight down.

Skylight & Overhead Glazing

Daylight Without
The Heat Lamp

Skylights take the sun at its most direct angle, which makes them the hottest square footage in most buildings. Below them you get a hot spot, blown-out glare, and floors and furniture fading in a stripe that tracks across the room with the sun.

Conejo Valley homes are full of them — the tract builders of the eighties and nineties put skylights in nearly every hallway, kitchen, and primary bath in the valley, and a great many are the original acrylic domes. Those need a compatible film, because standard glass products can craze or delaminate on acrylic. We check the material before we spec, add safety laminate where the glazing is overhead, and bring our own access.

  • Solar control on skylights and atria
  • 99% UV rejection to stop fading
  • Acrylic and polycarbonate compatible films
  • Safety laminate for overhead containment
  • Curved, domed and sloped glazing
  • Lift and staging access included

What Sets Us Apart

Why Businesses Choose
Window Films of Thousand Oaks

Kills The Hot Spot

Sun straight down through glass is the worst case there is, so it's the glass where film gives back the most.

Right Film For Acrylic

Most valley skylights are acrylic domes, not glass. The wrong film crazes them. We check first, every time.

Stops The Sun Stripe

The fade line that tracks across your floor and furniture disappears once the UV is blocked.

We Bring The Access

Scissor lifts, towers, and rope access all come with us. You don't book a thing.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Overhead Survey

We assess glazing material, slope, height, and access requirements, then quote the whole scope.

02

Film & Safety Spec

We specify the solar product, and any safety laminate the position calls for, against your real glazing.

03

Access & Install

Access is rigged, everything underneath is covered, and the film goes up one panel at a time.

04

Clean & Confirm

Site cleared, a review from ground level, and the overhead glazing warranty logged.
